How can tutors track packages and payments?

Keep a separate record for each lesson and each payment. A prepaid lesson uses a package balance; a postpaid lesson creates an amount to collect. The CSV includes fictional examples for both models and opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets.

Start with the agreement
Record a student reference, billing model, lesson rate or package size, and payment due date. Use a student code if you share the sheet.
Record completed teaching
After a prepaid class, reduce the remaining lesson count. After a postpaid class, record the amount due. Keep cancelled classes separate and apply the cancellation terms you agreed with the client.
Record money when it arrives
Record the amount received and payment date. A completed lesson is not evidence of a received payment, and a prepaid payment should not be counted again after each lesson.
Reconcile each week
Compare received amounts with your payment records. Review unpaid classes and low package balances before the next lesson, then carry the closing balance into the next period.

Package lessons remaining and amount pending are balances after each record, not values to add down the column. Received payments are separate entries; each payment is counted once.
